This was one weird beer, and I would have never guessed at "bitter"; it certainly wouldn't get any points for being stylistically correct. However, I liked it quite a bit...caramel/Granny Smith apple nose, dark and syrupy brown, no head. Could be anything...Scottish? Brown Ale? I dunno. Sweet-tart apple flavors, a bit oaky towards the finish, slightly thin, cidery/vinous qualities. I like it, whatever it wants to be called. Lubiere (4549), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Pleasant taste of caramel apples and light hops. Medium bodied. It was a nice change of pace, after the watery marvels of CH Evans. DJMonarch (6878), Northwich, Cheshire, England

Pleasant, but unspectacular............. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
