Jul 2, 2006 (bottle) Huge, huge off-white head. Copper with bready malt aroma. Flavor is biscuit malt with hint of sweetness and a bit of hops in the finish.

Jun 2, 2006 Bottle from Super Saver. Copper pour with aroma of tannic malts, British bittery hops, and some toffee. The taste is semi-tart, with some caramel malts, unsweet iced tea elements, and bitter hops. At first I didn’t like this at all, but it got more caramelly as it warmed, and ended rather nicely.

May 31, 2006 Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours clear amber with a small head. Aroma of breadiness, caramel, citrus. Flavor is slightly bitter, no carbonation, citrus, bread. Thin body, ok brew, easily forgetable.

May 29, 2006 (500 ml bottle: $3.59 at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) This smooth, easy-drinking beer strikes a nice balance between the nuttiness, toffee and subtle bitterness. Unfortunately, the flavor of the initial sip sort of washes over the palate and fades away fairly quickly, and subsequent sips are unrewarding. I seem to be getting a bit of apple, tea and rye on the back end after awhile, if that makes any sense. The pleasant nose is fruity, nutty and slightly buttery, and it’s more enjoyable to smell this beer than taste it. Medium-bodied and gently carbonated on the palate. Muddy, dark orange in color, the body is topped by a small, off-white head that diminishes to a filmy layer fairly quickly. I haven’t disliked this beer at all; it’s an okay beer, just not all that interesting.

May 28, 2006 Bottle. Cloudy dark orange. Thin lasting foam layer. Sour brown sugar aroma. Sour, dusty malt aroma. Understated and zesty. No big standout flavour. Hint of orange in the finish.

May 1, 2006 Updated: Dec 17, 2006Slight hint of wood chips in the aroma. Copper in colour with a thin head, high carb. Smooth texture, slight bitterness, a syrupy bitter but has a weak flavour. Malty finish. Nice but would like a stronger flavour.

Apr 30, 2006 Bottle brought over from Leeds, England, by a friend of mine. Bought in a special beer shop in Leeds.
Dark amber to light brown color, beige lasting head. Refreshing fruity scent. Low bitterness, fresh taste.
