Decent. Not a beer I would go out of my way to buy. It does not taste bad but it has no outstanding qualities either. I did not taste the apples at all.

Carmel color with a tan thick head on a fast pour from the bottle. Smokey yeastly aroma. First sip tells you this is not an ordinary beer. Fruity overtones give way to a very clean taste with almost no aftertaste. I found this to be a good relaxing beer to enjoy and found myself wanting another one when finished. Nice malty beer with a little hops to give it a zig.

Apples in the rear, with smoke and hops up front. Slides along the tongue with a bit of bite, though it could use a tad more. The hops come through nicely, though they could use a bit more barley tang. Overall, a pleasant, though not remarkable brew.

Bottle. I have great memories of this beer from a night at the Half Time Rec in St. Paul, MN many many years ago and on a trip to Wales in 1999 with Nuffield. A silky amber color with a laced tan head. Rich malts, burnt caramel and a touch of fruit in the strong aroma. Well balanced malts with apples and a dry finish.

Pours a caramel color, nice billowy head on top. Aroma is mildly bread-like, apple skin and pear. There almost seems to be a slight bourbon nose underneath as well. Flavor is oddly sweet and fruity, apple prominent. Almost slightly vinegary. If you mixed a cider with a beer, this is probably exactly what it would taste like.
