On first sip we get a bit of wine, some alcohol, fresh hay and maltiness. Hops also up front. Palate is spritzy, refreshing. Not much change towards the bottom of the glass, very balanced. nearbeer (1872), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 15, 2007 500 ml. Clear, copper-orange with a four finger head that settles in to tarry. Earthy, musty, caramel apple and woody aroma. Flavor is tart, fresh apple with caramel butter. Light, dry and fizzy. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2007 Upon its release from the 500ml bottle, it sets a clear deep amber to brown with a stupendous creamy light tan head that slips away slowly, leaving the resultant lace to form a fine sheet upon the glass. Nose has an earthy peat like aroma, somewhat sweet with a tartness that is noticeable, caramel and a slight hint of oak. Start is nicely malted; sweet with the sour bite at the back, top is moderate in feel. Finish has a pleasant acidity, hops purposeful in their spiciness, sweet and tart, dry as a desert bone, and quite drinkable this brew. adrian910ss (1435), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 29, 2007 Draft sample at Zeno’s. Pours a light clear amber with a medium white head. Weak aroma of bitter English hops. Taste is watery and low carbonated with bitter English hops. Not a fan. Quiver (139), Augusta, Georgia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Pours a light copper color with an eggshell foamy head. Slightly bitter with medium hop. Somewhat disappointing. Lacked in body. GreatLibations (1454), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 13, 2007 Pours copper w/ minimal soap spatter that really hangs in there creating a few islands that linger. Mild aromas of rustic English malts. Light to medium nectar w/ the kind of effers you have to coax out of it. This is a bitter brew w/ thin almost tasteless malts. Very rustic and truely English in style. The finish is bittered well and lets you know it. If you want bitter and thin, this is it. Beer2000 (1845), Kristiansand, Norway

Lots of maltiness, full taste, nice piney bitter finish. A very dedent bottled bitter, very welcome to the Norwegian scene. Nutty. Fine with food - this would be great with a curry.
