Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Nov 29, 2007 Upon its release from the 500ml bottle, it sets a clear deep amber to brown with a stupendous creamy light tan head that slips away slowly, leaving the resultant lace to form a fine sheet upon the glass. Nose has an earthy peat like aroma, somewhat sweet with a tartness that is noticeable, caramel and a slight hint of oak. Start is nicely malted; sweet with the sour bite at the back, top is moderate in feel. Finish has a pleasant acidity, hops purposeful in their spiciness, sweet and tart, dry as a desert bone, and quite drinkable this brew.
dkachur (573), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jun 17, 2008 Bottle from Wine & Beer Westpark. Bronze pour with minimal head. Aroma of toasted malt and apples. Very strong toasted grain taste with a fruity and bitter finish. Dragonblaze99 (246), Greater London, England Jun 14, 2008 Somewhat red-amber in colour. Small white head. Slightly sweet. Too watery for my taste, but leaves a lightly bitterish finish. An average beer of its type.
marcus (889), Sacramento, California, USA May 14, 2008 This black ale poured with a miniscule white head (how did they create a white head on a black beer?). There is a very strange creamy taste with notes of caramel malt and a slightly bitter finish. Too watery for me. patrick767 (1373), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Apr 22, 2008 500ml bottle - Well it’s got a nifty name and cool bottle. It pours clear light amber with a sizeable white head that lingers for the duration of the drink and leaves heavy lacing. It has a mild toasted malt aroma. Toasted caramel malt leads the flavor. The hops is mild and comes through more substantially in the enjoyable finish. The body is light and just a little watery. This beer is a pleasant session ale though it doesn’t stand out much. kiefdog (267), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 20, 2008 50cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Florida). Pours a clear slightly reddish amber color with a one finger white head that diminishes quickly but still provides lacing on the glass. Aroma: hints of ripe fruit with maple syrup or molasses (slightly sweet). Somewhat watery mouthfeel with slightly sweet, slightly bitter fruity taste. Slightly sour, tart finish suggest of apple and citrus, grapefruit.
