May 24, 2008 Bottle 500ml from Sainsburys, Christchurch. Pours black with a large tan head. Aromas of chocolate malts and dark roasts. These flavours follow through in to the taste. Wow, what a wonderfully creamy mouthfeel. This is a really good stout – the best I’ve had so far this year.

Nov 13, 2006 Cask conditioned at Charlies. Dark brown coloured. Malt and dark fruits such as prunes in the aroma. Sweet fruity flavour. Again many prunes and raisins. Slightly roasty finish- Light to medium bodied. Short finish. Rather dull for a stout.

Oct 3, 2006 [Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen] A pitch black beer with a thick brown head. The aroma is light - but what is there is sweet and lightly roasted combined with notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with a light roasted character as well as light notes of berries, leading to a roasted dry end with a light touch of hops. The mouthfeel is quite smooth. An OK light stout.

Jul 30, 2006 Cask(@ Royal Oak, Felinfoel): Almost black coloured, small, firm tanned head; clear toasted and roasted malt in the nose with some fruitiness; moderate, very smooth (roast) bitter flavour, light bodied; lingering, roast-malty, quite dry and a bit fruity finish. A pleasant and tasty brew........
