joss (3144), Garching b. München, Germany Jun 19, 2008 Bottle. Spicy, orangepeel and ripe banana nose. Cloudy golden, huge golden head. Light herbal, apple notes, somewhat bland for a weizenbock. Relatively light body, fizzy mouthfeel. Very easy to drink - a bit too easy. pivnizub (3900), Porúří, Germany May 31, 2008 Screw-cap bottle: A bit unclear, quite stable rocky head; wheaty-sourish nose, mainly lemons, but also some cloves; stronger sweet-sourish flavour, medium to full bodied, creamy MF; moderate sourish (lemony)-creamy-fruity finish. Well rounded, well quaffable Weizenbock.......... MoritzF (3883), Ruhrpott, Germany May 21, 2008 (screw cap bottle) Hazy, yellow colour with a huge rocky white foam. Light-sweet and yeasty malt aroma with a good wheat-character; almost a bit vinous citrus-fruity with shy clovy and peppery notes. Slightly sweet and moderately fruity flavour, medium to full bodied with a lively carbonated mouthfeel. Slightly yeasty, wheat-malty and citrousy, also a bit peppery taste; wheaty and fruity finish with a well-embedded alcohol. Balanced and quaffable Weizenbock (21.05.08). MiP (6026), Flensburg, Germany May 13, 2008 Bottle, 7.2%. Very big head, perhaps not quite cold enough. Yeasty aroma, some sweet sourness that I often get in Weizenbock, like malt syrup. Cloudy orange colour, the head is almost white. Some yeast at the bottom of the bottle. The flavour starts off fruity and yeasty, but nicely so. Quite peppery, in combination with the yeast almost Belgian strong-tasting. Rough bitterness, probably from the alcohol. shrubber85 (2591), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA May 10, 2008 Bottle. Ripe banana/peach and wheat malt aroma with hint of astringency. Hazy orange-yellow color with giant white fluffy head. Strong astringent alcohol and light banana wheat malt flavor. Decent but a bit harse.
