blankboy (2627), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 27, 2005 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry and Dave B. -- courtesy of Dave B. Pours a cloudy orange with a large rocky white head. Aroma is very yeasty along with spices and way in the back some malt and hops. The flavour isn’t very flavourful at all, what’s there is once again yeasty (almost Wheat beer-like) with some malt and spices and a hoppy bitterness. Somehow the palate has a harshness to it as if it were quite strong in alcohol but it’s only 4.1% so that’s odd. Average at best. HogTownHarry (3286), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Nov 24, 2005 Bottle (500ml). Shared with blankboy and Dave B, courtesty of Dave B. Poured hazy deep orange with a large lasting off-white pancake batter head. What is that aroma? - tons of funky UK yeasts, woodiness, fresh mint, mostly fruity malt as it warms. Taste is a weird blend of a sharply bitter UK ale and a generic belgian wit - very odd, quite bitter - I don’t like it that much, and it tastes like it has way more alcohol than 4.1%. Mouthfeel very bitter. Odd. Hildigöltur (5056), København Ø, Denmark Nov 8, 2005 Bottled. Amber coloured. Fruity aroma. Sweet and fruity flavour with notes of candy and some yeastiness. Ungstrup (11408), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 19, 2005 A hazy amber beer with a thick beige head. The aroma is lovely hoppy combined with notes of lemon, while the flavor is sweet caramelic with a dusty hoppy note giving it a dry end. Emil (6077), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 11, 2005 Bottle. Dark amber colour with a small off-white head. Light sweet caramel, hoppy aroma and taste. Medium body and a very dry finish.
