Good pint. maxbeer (114), Italy Oct 11, 2007 [Cask at Hereford festival 2006] Dark brown; coffe aroma and flavout, a bit sweet; watery body. stoutfellow2 (20), Peterborough, England Sep 16, 2007 Gravity : Coalheavers BF, P’boro : Dark brown. Lacy white head. smoke flavour predominates. Lasting bonfire smoke in finsh. Not unpleasant. Doppelganger (1114), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Jul 9, 2007 Gravity, Merton Beer Festival. Very dark brown, almost opaque, fine layer of off-white head. Rustic earthy bread aroma, lightly roasty, light caramel. Simple, but attractive. Earthy bread flavor, just a little smoke, some copper penny pinging around in the background, but in this case it’s a nice thing. Light body, but not thin. A solid mild, not a shocker, but hearty and satisfying. Fin (2179), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jul 9, 2007 Cask at Merton Summer Beer Festival 07-07-07. Poured very dark brown without much of a head, great smokey aroma which then followed through into the mouth. This was a jolly good Mild that tasted nice malty and ’roasty smokey’ but for some reason it never quite lived up to expectations.
