Anyway, it’s great. Quite yeasty and a little rough and ready, but really up my alley. Nice pils malt flavour, but it could stand to come through a touch more. Big bitterness which is slightly coarse, but otherwise the hop character is excellent; tasting very Czech, kinda strong but restrained. Lager yeast flavour, but not sulfury. Reminded me a lot of Modra Hvezda’s beer, or Czech brewpub svetla more generally. Really tasty stuff, wish I could’ve smashed a bunch more.

Unfortunately for Feral they have some competition over the ditch from Emersons with their organic pils. Oh well, the Kiwis can’t beat us at cricket but they kill us here. It is good andobviously suitable to the climate here. There is just too much expectation which isn’t countered by the delivery here. Keep it up though gents. ALLOVATE (1126), Perth, Australia
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 23, 2005 Updated: Jul 13, 2005Tasted on draught at the Guildford Hotel, Guildford. Poured a crystal, pale straw with misshaped ’kegged’ bubbles, that struggled to keep the white foam on past the first mouthful. Lemon and apple aroma, clean liquor and a touch of freshly mowed grass. The thin body gave little in flavour and it was harshly carbonated. Light hint of malt mid palate with a little spiciness, and a noticeable diacetyl soapiness-feel, throughout, that left a layer on my tongue. May have been the pipes or keg at fault for the bad sample, because this was a sub-standard beer, especially from the good people at Feral. OlJuntan64 (1267), Perth, Australia

Pours a MCG with a small white head. Aroma is stale floral hops. Flavour is corn sweet with a touch of mild hops. I got none of the hop flavour other raters are going on about except at the finish which is a touch acrid. AlphaOne (142), Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 12, 2004 Golden lager appearance, high carbonation. Nice, light malty aroma, some honey, flowery, perfumy hops. Light malt, soon to be overwhelmed by a firm drying bitterness, floral saaz hoppiness, quite the standout at NFOB 2003. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2003 One of the few that stuck out for me at the Brisbane Festival o beers. On Saturday I actually got a jug of the stuff because I couldn't hack much else. It had a decent buttery profile which, of the pils I've had, reminded me most of Emersons. I'd love to have a proper pint of this one day, rather than just out of plastic cups in a Qld barn. Nice drop.
