Big_Mouth (14), Perth, Australia Jun 3, 2007 Tried this about 2003? It was the most flavoursome beer I’ve had. Chocolate coffee flavour which is well balanced. DuffMan (1962), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Oct 9, 2005 The stout I had was 6.8% alcohol, and was terrific. Chestnut brown, opaque with darkly roasted malt, mild char, and faint apple aromas. Flavours of chocolate, coffee, and apple-raisin deliver sweetness up front with a nicely rounded bitter finish. Heavy mouthfeel. Excellent all around! bluevegie (1772), Perth, Australia Jun 27, 2004 The appearance of this beer was quite good, it had a nice dark tan head that foamed well from the tap but didn’t last the distance. Solid black body and good lacing. Found the aroma to be dry grainy malt. Taste was nice and smooth, initially there was a touch of brown sugar sweetness, but pretty soon there was a strong roasted coffee flavour with a hint of liquorice and milk. The mouthfeel was nice and thick with good bitterness increasing more as you get to the end of the glass. This is the new and improved version from last year and well worth the wait! But I like my stouts!
