refreshng beer looks quite nice. a deep orange amber clear with good small carbonation that effects the palate in a positive way. caramel muscatel flavor that is light somewhat refreshing and off balance. a hint of a scotch flavor that provides dimension of a sort. a bit nutty i suppose more of a nut shell type of flavor... the burnt part that one would not eat but rather spit out. undemonstrative.

I bought this for the ratiing, and here it is. Actually, Its pretty good, especailly considering how bland their IPA is. Smooth caramel at first, and a surprisingly crisp, earthy woodsy hop finish. I wanted to write a flippant "Here’s another freakin’ amber ale" - type review, but I kinda liked this one.

Bottled. Poured medium orange with a nice cap of beige head. The aroma picked up artificially-sweetened caramel and lesser dark fruits with green floral and a bit of citrus hoppage around. The flavor picked up wet grains and caramel on the core with pine and citrus bitterness around.. sweet, tacky finish. Lighter-bodied and dry on the palate with just decent balance.. got caught up at the finish without leaving anything good there. Drinkable.

Columbia, SC - Total Wines - 12 oz bottle. Murky light copper pour with a frothy off-white head that leaves sticky lacing. Wort-like aroma with some sweet molasses. Caramel and toffee dominate the flavor with some underlying fruitiness - nectarines come to mind. Nutty back end. Decently thick mouthfeel. Pleasantly surprised.

Bottle. Amber pour with a small white head. Nose is hoppy, sort of spicy, with light caramel, and lots of grains. Taste is grainy with spicy hops, some earthiness, light caramel and a touch of lemon. Body is medium with moderate carbonation. Ends with more spicy hops, caramel, earth notes, soft nutty flavors and grains. Meh...

12 oz. Darkish copper with a medium head that lasts and laces fairly well. Aroma is spicy earth, sourish grain, citrus and molasses. Smooth flavors of grain, sweet toasted pecan, molasses, slight lemon, and earthy tea leaf. Light-medium body is sessionable, smooth and watery, with a drying finish.

Nice bright orange coloured body with a bit of amber tint and a thinnish tan head. Aroma of fresh malt, strong caramel, some nuts and a bit of freshish hops. Medium-bodied; Strong light malt flavours roaming through some mild lemon and yeast flavours - with not much else following suit. Aftertaste shows some mild malts, a bit of light english/german hops and some very mild sugars. Overall, a decent beer - not horrible, but definitely not BAD! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 15-April-2008, on 29-April-2008, after a couple of weeks in holding.

From a bottle poured amber with a small amount of head. Flavor of malt/hop with a weak finish.
