| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 25, 2007 Bottle… Clear, deep amber ale with orange highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Malty, meaty nose with metallic, earthy hops. Also, notes of English toffee, caramel and biscuit with subdued copper or nickel. Medium sweet caramel flavor perfectly balanced by minerally, metallic bitterness. Uninteresting. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Crisp, metallic, mildly bitter finish. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 7, 2007 Bottle: Pours a mahogany color with light fizzy off-white head. The nose is lightly grassy and flat with metallic malts and a lack of anything really. A dull thud on the palate, barely registers. Decent mouthfeel, i’ll give it that. Uniteresting. bhensonb (4374), Woodland, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jun 5, 2007 Yeasty, malty aroma. Clean amber color with a beige head. Medium body; quite a bit of carbonation. Starts sweet with a sharp fruit accompaniment. A bit tart. Not very bitter. Could be floral hop. Tastier than a number of ambers. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Bottled. Poured medium orange with a nice cap of beige head. The aroma picked up artificially-sweetened caramel and lesser dark fruits with green floral and a bit of citrus hoppage around. The flavor picked up wet grains and caramel on the core with pine and citrus bitterness around.. sweet, tacky finish. Lighter-bodied and dry on the palate with just decent balance.. got caught up at the finish without leaving anything good there. Drinkable.
