bottle from total wine. impressive for having very little useful information on the label. pours a mostly clear amber, moderate carbonation. aroma is herbal, funky hops. reminds me of 60 minute, but not as good. a little light on the palate for an IPA. still, not bad.

12 oz bottle. This is a dry IPA with little in the way of malt character. As a result, this beer is all about the hops. The aroma is quite nice and the flavor gains depth as the beer warms.

I still not sure of the full story on this beer; is it contracted brewed by Matt of another extension of their line? My brother picked up a six-pack and shared. Just middle of the road IPA, average bitterness, light bodied. I’d have to check the price next time at the liquor store to see if Fiddler’s Green is a good value.

Not a bad IPA but I wouldn’t put it in the top echelon of IPA’s. Pours a bright copper/orange color. Moderate head, some lacing, not anything to write home about though. The aroma is fruity, a bit hoppy but kind of faint. When drinking the beer there is a decent bitter hoppy bite right away, actually it’s nice, more so than I thought judging from the aroma. But after the initial hoppy flavor it kind of levels off. Slightly sweet, bitter and dry. The aftertaste leaves me wanting more as the hoppy flavor is not maintained throughout. Again, OK IPA but it could use more hops (however I’ve had "IPAs" with far fewer hops than this). Not a bad price, not a bad beer.

From bottle : Pours clear, lightly carbonated gold color with a half finger of white rocky head. Strong citrus hop nose. Was wondering why the low rating from the smell, but one sip put my question to bed. Very watery, and hop bite on the end of the tounge, then all watery with no flavor what-so-ever. Aftertaste is skunky. Light body, very watery texture and feel.

Clear golden orange coloured body with a soapy off-white head and tons of large bubbles which rise up like soda. Aroma of very grassy and crisp hops - some nuts, metal and cardboard mixed in as well. Not too pleasing, but not horrible either. Light-bodied; Strong pungent hops up front with grassy and very very perfumey tastes, along with some green apples, metal and a tiny bit of vinegar too. Aftertaste shows some stay - more hops than anything else, but a decent malt backbone is better than the other saranac beers. Overall, a drinkable IPA, but not enough guts to be a real beer. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 10-February-2008.

Bottle. Hazed amber. Small white head. Splotchy sticky lacing. Aroma is big floral hops and citrus fruits. Lighter sweet malts emerge as this warms. Taste is also big hops and citrus but the sweet malts and soft caramel come through a bit more here. Feels rather resinous in spots but not that chewy. Slick and bitter throughout. Mild carbonation with a light-medium to medium overall feel. The finish is predominantly bitter hops and citrus oils with lighter malts and faded caramel. Not too bad!
