| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Orange gold color. Light sweet caramel malt aroma. Doesnt smell like an IPA. Flavor is similar caramel malts with a little citrus hops in the finish. If its an IPA, it is an introductory one , because there sure arent enough hops in this one. Maybe a pale ale? Nonetheless, it is drinkable, and it doesnt taste bad. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Bottle: Orange hued golden, translucent, large foamy off-white head, fairly nice lacing, no noticeable carbonation.   Husky malt
aroma, very mild hop presense.   Almost smells more of an Amber or Red than an IPA.   Husky malts on the tongue, mild graininess, a
little barnish, somewhat musty.   Very low hop bite, in fact I wouldn’t even call this a Pale Ale.   This more certainly has more in
common with an Amber.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Finish is a little gritty and rough, moreso on the grainy side than anything
related to hops.   Also feels like its been released too soon, albeit without any carbonation.   Pretty flat on the tongue.
IPA, hardly.   Amber, maybe.   Decent, at best.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 24, 2007 Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a light amber and a small head with a frothy rim. Loose cascades of lace. The nose includes big flowery hop expressions. The tongue receives more piney hops, herbal earth, and a hint of orange zest. Well-balanced carbonation and full bodied. I feel isolated with my ratings today, as I thought this IPA was great when others don’t, and felt Trappistes Rochefort #10 was highly overrated when others rave about it. Just goes to show...taste is all a matter of individual perspective. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 23, 2007 12oz bottle. Nose is lightly fruity, with some moderately heavy pine and resin and some very faint nut as well. Seems like the citrus/juicy C-note hops are fairly mild, while something like simcoe with a pine and hay smell and flavor are more pronounced, but I actually have no idea what hops are used. Crips and light up front, doesn’t weigh on the palate and isn’t too sweet or syrupy. Although you could also say it’s a simple IPA, sometimes it only takes a simple effort with some fresh hops to make an IPA work. No, this isn’t stellar, but it’s easily drinkable. Deep amber color with a huge aroma. This was a big surprise to me. The aroma was strong with hops and the malts flavor was also very deep and rich. This was a clean clear and great drinking IPA. Good Summer drinking Beer. Beerlando (2340), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 12, 2007 Clear orange-amber color. Non-uniform white head that leaves a spotty lacing. Aroma has a malty caramel and toffee background with grapefruit and herbal hops. Flavor shows buttery toffee malts with sharp grapefruit hops and perhaps a bit of spiciness. Medium body that is smooth and easy to drink, with a citrus aftertaste. Palate is slightly sticky. Pretty standard fare for an IPA. Not outstanding, but a bit underrated in my opinion. Pours amber orange with very little head. Aroma is grassy hops with some orange; the flavor is a relatively mild, not-so-resiny, somewhat grassy IPA that might almost pass for a pale ale on the West coast. Still, it’s plenty drinkable, going doing easily and enjoyably, even if it does leave a bit of a metallic aftertaste on the long end.
