I like bockbiers and I was looking forward to this one. Looks great in the glass, dark coloured. Smells and tastes too much malty, this becomes really penetrating. Not a good beer.

dark copper colour, vanishing head. starts with roasted malts and caramel taste. mild. hops comes in the middle and stays until the end. here addited by the roasted malts. a normal drinkable dark bock without accents.

Bottle (thank You, EithCubes!): Chestnut-amber coloured, small lacing tanned head; sweet dark-malty, fruity (berries) and a bit vinous nose; sweet (fruity) flavour, medium bodied, a bit sticky; sweetish, fruity, a bit vinous finish with delicate chocolatey bitterness in the aftertaste. Lacks a bit of bitterness to be really good, but all in all a quite decent Bock.............

Not sure why these beers appear here but I guess they do. A dark brown to black appearance. A large head on this one. A sweet sugary flavor with some chocolate and raisins. Overall this was a good beer

Hard to believe this is a rare beer considering I know of at least 3 stores in town that carry this. I was a little scared away by the price but broke down and bought one today. Cool stein too. Now to the beer. Aroma is quite nice, fruit and alcohol similar to a belgian in a strange way. Appearance is basically yellow with little head. Flavor is nice with citrus fruit and a fairly harsh alcohol burn. Seems alot like an abbey dubbel to me. Although every bock Ive ever tasted seems different so I assume it will do for a catch all style for this beer. Overall its good and worth a look at if only once.

Bottle. Dark brown pour, red under light, with a rocky tan head. Smells sweet and fruity, mostly grape. Sweet, sugary, and grapey. Sticky. I’m probably overrating this, not a great bock by any means.

Slightly sweet aftertaste with a defined medicinal bitterness. Very smooth on the way down. Nice reddish amber color.

Interesting and distinctive aroma, with a goodly amount of caramel and honeyish malt sweetness, a light herbal hoppiness, very faint medicinal phenols and less familiar notes of dried flowers and anise. Light-medium rosy amber color, hazy, a light dusting of sediment coating the glass, with a fine, creamy head that subsided utterly. Lightly fruity and sweet to start, caramel taking over a bit more in the middle then blending with some licorice and gentle hops to comprise the finish. Palate, although smooth is also a bit on the watery side, with low effervescence. Medium-full body. A rather unique, pale Bock.
