Aug 27, 2003 With a flavorful, fruity aroma and a full-bodied, complex taste, this ranks as delicious bock. There's not much more to say... drink this beer!
p.s. Yes, the tan ceramic stein is way cool, and I like the picture of the fiddler!

Jun 23, 2003 Maybe I just got unlucky and got a bad bottle of beer. Reading some of these other reviews makes me second guess my impression. The beer poured nicely but sort of smelled like walnuts. The flavor was absolutely diabolical. It tasted like river water with a hint of yeast in it. Having said that, I will try this beer again though based on some of the other reviews. I always give a beer at least two chances. Also the bottle looks great in a collection.

Apr 11, 2003 This brew has a tropical fruity aroma to it.The head diminished rather quickly in my glass.No lacing.Goes down smooth with no bitter aftertaste to it in my opinion.I would definitely drink this one again and again and again.

Apr 11, 2003 Updated: Jun 4, 2003This brew poured a medium off white head f medium sized bubbles that leaves a nice lacing. It has a cloudy light brown body and a malty fruity combination. It has a very nice flavor that goes down smoothly with a mild finish and no foretaste. It's a very well rounded brew and just a little different.

Feb 5, 2003 The aroma is malty and sticky sweet with huge notes of raw honey. Fruity as well... sweet, tropical fruits (combination of plums, apricots and Guava).
Clear straw-colored beer with tons fo tiny particles evenly dispersed. Medium-sized creamy white head. Mostly diminishing with decent lacing.
The flavor is very malty and mildly sweet with honey, citrus fruit and apricot up front. Mild hop bitterness and pungency to balance things out on the backside. Slight alcoholic presence as well.
Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Short, lightly tart, dry finish with a hint of Orange blossom or clover at the wee end.
Leaves a nice oily feel in the mouth.
Recommended whether you like Bocks, Belgian Tripples or Saisons.

Jan 26, 2003 Smells like mosquito repellant and tastes like it too. Pours a light cloudy amber, which is too light for a bock. Malt is detectable in the nose and body, but there is a terrible off-flavor that tastes like a hop tang that reacted with the clay bottle. Finish is probably the most enjoyable/least unpleasant. Definitely not worth the $6.79 a bottle or the name bock.

Dec 16, 2002 I enjoy this. The stein is way cool, but know it raises theprice to a point that is higher than what I value the beer to be. At least my homebrewing buds can use it. Nice malty German fare. Not heads above the many great German beers I have had, but in the realm of fair.
