Pour from a growler. Pours a hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is of hops, citrus, grain, and rye. Taste is of very crisp, bitter hops with a decent amount of citrus. Has a very grainy malt base. Lingering taste of rye and hop bitterness. The rye was a little muted, but was still present. Has a very crisp, carbonated mouthfeel. Very light bodied and drinkable. A good beer, but lacking in the rye.

A hazy golden ale with a thin off white head. A pungeant c-hops in aroma, pinhey, with light grapefruit notes. In mouth, a classy IPA, pinhey and resinous, with classic grapefruits, well balanced. On tap at brewpub August 19, 2009.

Draft @ FiftyFifty. Pours a hazy, tarnished and pulpy brown color; textured, off-white head with fine-bubbled lacing; nice pour. Dense, juicy hop aroma: loads of bitterness, citrus (grapefruit, esp.) and earthiness, gorgeous hop nose. Full mouthfeel: impressively dense, chewy, juicy hop character; this comes across as more of an intense IPA than something with rye as a key element; slight, gentle graininess, with a whole load of orange and grapefruit and earthy bitterness; gorgeous; very crisp. Nice to see an excellent session from these guys. Long finish: oranges, grapefruit, loads of lasting bitterness.

Draft at the Bistro’s IPA Fest. Nose of nuts and floral hops along with wholegrain bread. Clear gold with a medium white head. Flavor was light bitterness and a peanutty taste from the rye! Nice!

Draught at the Bistro IPA fest. hazy blond with darker hues within, and a lasting head. The rye shows some spice in the aroma, with lots of citrus from the hops as well. Great creamy mouthfeel, with the rye adding a nice balance to citrus and melon fruitiness. Bready and balanced, but with refreshing bitterness. Maybe its uniqueness and great mouth-feel just made it stand out, but this was quite nice without really having an astounding flavor.

Tap at the ’09 Bistro IPA Festival in Hayward, CA. Hazy copper color with a nice off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, rye, and citrusy hops. Flavor more of the same with some sweet honeyish malt, rye, and great lingering citrusy hops. Body medium-full for the style. Pretty solid overall.
