TimE (1019), Tokyo, Japan Aug 15, 2007 Deep amber color. Rocky white head. It has a rich caramel palate and is very malty as expected. Not alot going on. TBone (4933), Pori, Finland Jul 29, 2006 Bottled "Irish Red Ale".
Amber color, small tan head. Buterscotch diacetylic nose with some malts and caramel. Medium-bodied. Malty, rounded mouthfeel with caramelly notes. Good balanced malt profile. thewolf (3607), Kolding, Denmark Jan 14, 2006 Beautiful colour, nice smell, nice white head, but a rather uninspiring taste. A slight fruity/yeasty aftertaste highlandlad (1187), Sydney, Australia Feb 1, 2005 Unusual but disappointing Irish red ale. Poured a ruddy brown colour with a decent but short-lived head. Unusual porter-like nose - cocoa powder and toasted malt. Peculiar for the style. Light body with a creamy mouthfeel. In fact, the body seems downright skinny for a red. Elusive flavour dominated by faint chocolate malt characters. Little of the bitterness you might expect. A strange kettle of fish. By no means, unpleasant but not particularly faithful to the style. (Bottle) Spiesy (2330), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Jul 13, 2004 Bottled. Amber with smooth shinny head. Soft malty base with vanilla flavour. Moderate bitterness. Smooth flavour.
