Commercial Description:
Fire Island is known for being easy going with a lot of character, so Fire Island Lighthouse Ale has been crafted the exact same way. A soft carbonation and light caramel finish make Fire Island Lighthouse Ale easy to drink, yet it has the toasty round body of a classic American Ale to give it real substance. It’s a beer for all seasons, all foods, and all friends. Or as we like to say, the kind of beer you want to have a beer with.

Not really sure why this is rated all that well. Basically tastes like a bad batch of Lager homebrew. Pour is an unfiltered yellow/hay color. Zero head, weak honey tang and cereal flavors, a bit soapy mouthfeel. Extract garbage.

Bottle. Light malt notes of cereal and nutty, herbs for the hops, faint dough for the yeast with a hint of brown sugar. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with a bit of lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear pale yellowish tan. Flavor is a little sweet and acidic in the start and finish. Palate is light to medium, watery and has a lively carbonation. Pretty simple, more like a cross between an Amber and a Pale Ale.

Pretty run-of-the-mill American pale ale. Pours a light, clear yellow. Nose of grass and some bread. Flavor is mildly sweet with notes of honey. Not very complex. Easy to drink and pretty smooth.

Is this a new Long Island brewery? I’m impressed if the place is new. Not the greatest pale ale, but very drinkable. Aroma is grainy, yeast and bread and some citrus. Taste is smooth and sessionable. Definitely the "kind of beer i’d want to have a beer with" but, you know, not necessarily this beer.

Pale straw colour with a thick white head. The nose shows a pretty simple profile with a kiss of light pale malt overlaid by sweet fruity esters. Hops are a little bit spicy and fruity but really are quite light as well. Berryish finsih. Pretty decent balance… sort of a lawnmower beer, but it’s pretty nice.

Bottled. Poured near-clear lighter orange with a short-lived cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweet honey, pale malts, and corn with light earth and black pepper accents.. didn’t care much for it. The flavor found more of the honey and corn syrup at the core.. just a little bitterness around, but mostly scratchy carbonation.. black pepper, a hint of citrus, and corn syrup on the finish. Lighter-bodied and dry on the palate.. not very bitter or interesting in any other regard.

@Freaktoberfest, pours like a lager, yellow to brown with a small white head, maltish and some sweet aroma of unknown source, flavors of malt and lemon, body is almost medium, ok.

Pours copper with a thin tan head. Smells of flowers, toasted malt, some caramel, peppery. Tastes toasty and dry with some crisp grassy hints. This has some potential.
