Commercial Description:
The Fire Station 5 beers are brewed by Portland Brewing exclusively for the Fred Meyer grocery store chain. Brewed from only malted grains to produce a rich, deep bronze ale with a pleasing round flavor and just a hint of fruit.

[12oz Bottle] A deep amber color with a light head. This had a good aroma but the flavor was off. There where some metalic flavors and just was not full of flavor. This was a decent brew but for me it was not the best. The masses would love the lack of flavor.

This started out great, but was dissappointing. Poured to a reddish-orange color with little carbonation, a thin off-white head and little lacing. Had a great aroma of malty sweet caramel, with hints of chocolate. Unfortuantely, little or none of this was found in the taste, which was bland. Mouthfeel was slightly spicy, but nothing great. Finish was a little stale, like wet cardboard. Not real impressed with this aside from the aroma.

Bottle. Poured copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate caramel malty sour citrus hop aroma. Light to medium body. Medium balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.

Taste of a typical amber ale. Malts, caramel, some hops, and a bit of citrus. Fairly average in character, but very nicely balanced. Finished clean and was a refreshing beer for the summer heat.

12oz bottle from Party Town which tells me this is no longer brewed exclusively for the Fred Meyer grocery store chain - Pours amber with a 1/2 inch creamy offwhite head that stays pretty well and laces the sides of the glass. Aromas of caramel, and some light grassy hops. Flavor is caramel, bread, and maybe a little kiss of lemon. Mostly malts though. Medium bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Kind of boring.. Not much there. Drinkable though.

Amber appearance with little head. Taste is fairly bland malt with light sweetness and no bitterness. It’s drinkable but doesn’t have much else going for it.

orange with a large creamy white head. smells of malt and lemony hops. plenty of sweet bready malts with a very mild hop finish. low carbonation. maybe a little more hops would bitter this up a bit. still very drinkable.

Pours a nice medium amber. Aromas of light malt and some fruit. Taste is kind of bland with some sweetness.
