Commercial Description:
The Fire Station 5 beers are brewed by Portland Brewing exclusively for the Fred Meyer grocery store chain. Brewed from only malted grains to produce a rich, deep bronze ale with a pleasing round flavor and just a hint of fruit.

Pours quickly. Deep cooper color. This beer is lighter in taste then would be expected for an amber ale. Woody, smokey overtones are there, but not what you would expect. I thought this beer was a little watery and I was disappointed in the lack of flavor.

Bottle Pours a orange/copper color with very little head that disapeared in a minute. In fact, I can’t remember that last beer I tried that had less head/lacing. Sad. Aroma is a light malty grain with a sweet slant to it. Has a wierd rusty, metallic taste. Woody also. Feel is pretty thin and the finish is a little smkey/dark roast. Nothing special from another FredMeyer Brew

Slightly malty aroma with hints of peppers. Hints of sweetness in the nose as well. Pours a transparent copper with virtually no head. Start is sweet leading to significant tasotiness with a watery finish. Hints of citrus to start. All in all, rather unpleasant.

Poured watery, pumpkin orange. Not an attractive beginning. Aroma is dirty, sweet malt. No noticable hop aroma. Flavor is watered down and flat. Lightly roasted flavor. Sweet, cloying finish. Not very interesting at all. Skip it.

#557 on my beerwall. Had a nice dark amber color with a small amount of head. Taste was malty and sweet with very little hops. Very thin tasting in the mouth, kinda ruined the taste.

NW hops and medium level caramel dominate both aroma and flavor... slightly cloying in finish
