poured from bottle. thick dark brown color with just a little bit of light coming through, tan head. aromas of malt and chocolate. thick palate with just the right amount of carbonation. complex charcaters in the flavor, with notes of coffee, chocolate, malts. and a slight sour after fast, finishes with a metallic flavor.

12oz bottle via trade with Bück Dich! - thanks Jordan! - Pours dark brown with a big 2 finger tan creamy head that stayed pretty well and laced some. Light aromas of milk chocolate, roasted malt, and just a little coffee. Flavor is big roast, light milk chocolate, a little smoke, and some light coffee. Mouthfeel is on the creamy side. A bit of a sour aftertaste but overall this is a fair porter.

Courtesy of Bück Dich <!-- P --> Aroma is roasty, slightly stale with some milk chocolate notes and some coffee. Black body with a slowly dimishing tan head. Roasty, slightly smoked tasting malts..some watery notes in the flavor, but the mouthfeel is good. Bitter roasted finish. Very one dimensional flavor wise with roasted and smoked notes being the only show in town.

Hints of deep dark chocolate. Thin, fizzy, but a final chocolately finish. So it’s watery. You can’t have everything. It has everything a porter should have, just perhaps not so much as you might like. The FireStation5 brews generally suggest that the lower price means savings on malt. Any differing opinions, let me know. These beers are good value, but they aren’t top of the line. I can live with that. I just won’t buy them frequently. Won’t shun them either.

12 oz bottle, via Bück Dich. Nice dark brown pour with a light brown one finger head that settled down to a thin film quickly. Nice nose of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt, a little dry. Flavor is mostly roast with little of the chocolate from the aroma present. The finish is very dry and quite astringent. Not a very complex flavor profile. Mouthfeel is fairly thin with fizzy and prickly carbonation. Overall, the flavor is a little lacking and it’s overly astringent on the finish.

Black with a tan head. Nothing particularily wrong with this beer but it’s fairly simplistic and boring.

(Bottle) Pours a black body with a small tan head. Aroma of roastiness, florals, citrus, and a h int of chocolate. Flavor of toasted malt with a carbonated mouthfeel.

Dark brown body, aroma is of chocolate and slightly smokey. Tastes of dark chocolate bitterness with a hint of smoke. Pretty good porter for the price.
