Bought this in the brown 12 oz bottle ..no best by date. Poured the beer it was dark brown but no head to speak of..very average. Smell was Ok I picked up some burnt malt some coffee..run of the mill porter smells. This did not taste like a good porter at all..way too light and too much carbonation . not good mouthfeel for a porter thin and bubbly..not good Its drinkable but I doubt I would buy this again..not a good porter at all.

This was an example of what could be a fire - roasted porter. A bit of a burnt taste, but in a good way, toasted in the malt taste with very little hops, slightly sweet in the aftertaste with nothing really else to offer.

Burnt chocolate aroma, very subtle. Great double finger tan head with sticky lacing. Dark brown/ruby color. Flavor is very smokey with a caramel & chocolate aftertaste, very yummy, but not very complex. Palate is bitter and astringent. Overall it's surprisingly good for a house porter from Fred Meyer.

Pours dark brown with glints of amber and a very thin head. Balanced aroma of roasted malts/caramel and citrus/resin from the hops. Semi sweet flavor with a quick bitter finish. Somewhat thin in flavor/mouthfeel, like it is missing something about mid taste.

Good dark color. Somewhat fruity. Perfect amount of sweetness. Very drinkable and good.
