Hints of deep dark chocolate. Thin, fizzy, but a final chocolately finish. So it’s watery. You can’t have everything. It has everything a porter should have, just perhaps not so much as you might like. The FireStation5 brews generally suggest that the lower price means savings on malt. Any differing opinions, let me know. These beers are good value, but they aren’t top of the line. I can live with that. I just won’t buy them frequently. Won’t shun them either.

Burnt chocolate aroma, very subtle. Great double finger tan head with sticky lacing. Dark brown/ruby color. Flavor is very smokey with a caramel & chocolate aftertaste, very yummy, but not very complex. Palate is bitter and astringent. Overall it's surprisingly good for a house porter from Fred Meyer.

smells very good, like roasted malt and coffee. it also looks quite tasty and is an opaque brownish black with little to no head. there isn’t really much of a taste, it actually tastes a little like its been watered down. there is, however, a slight bitterness and roasted quality to the flavor that can be tasted after a couple sips. its fairly bitter and nicely astringent at the end. i’m satisfied with this brew. Bottle pours black with dark brown hues, nice tannish foamy head, with fairly decent lacing.     Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate.   Minor roasted malt flavor up front, slight apple tinge too.   Fairly simple finish, roasted malts.   Fairly straight forward Porter, nothing exciting or spectacular... but not bad either.   However, rather watery on the finish.   Neither full bodied or complex.   Oh, I know

Courtesy of Bück Dich <!-- P --> Aroma is roasty, slightly stale with some milk chocolate notes and some coffee. Black body with a slowly dimishing tan head. Roasty, slightly smoked tasting malts..some watery notes in the flavor, but the mouthfeel is good. Bitter roasted finish. Very one dimensional flavor wise with roasted and smoked notes being the only show in town.

Nice dark color with a tan head. Roasted aroma. Taste was nice with roasted flavors and a hint of chocolate. Very thin taste in the mouth though.

Pours dark brown with glints of amber and a very thin head. Balanced aroma of roasted malts/caramel and citrus/resin from the hops. Semi sweet flavor with a quick bitter finish. Somewhat thin in flavor/mouthfeel, like it is missing something about mid taste.
