Commercial Description:
The Fire Station 5 beers are brewed by Portland Brewing exclusively for the Fred Meyer grocery store chain. A well-hopped, deep golden ale with a malty, full-bodied taste and refreshing finish. Sip and reflect on long journeys to exotic lands.

From a 12 oz bottle that says it was brewed in Ukiah, CA this poured a clear amber with medium white head and moderate lacing. Nose of caramel hops and citrus hops. Mouthfeel kind of mild but smooth. Flavor is of citrus and piney hops, Not much of a finish but some bitterness is there. OK,.

Clear amber pour with a foamy white head. More hops in the aroma and flavor than what I was expecting. Medium palate and a nice pine/grapefruit finish. Not a great IPA by any means, but worth the 7 bucks for the sixer.

I really like this beer. It tastes similar to other IPA’s I’ve had before. I would recommend it to all IPA fans.

Bottle. Pours clear light amber with a lacy off-white head. Sweet aroma of pine, citrus, fruit. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Lightly sweet taste of oranges, toffee. Grapefruit pith/pine resin/floral finish that seems a little astringent. Not to shabby for the house beer in a smallish grocery store chain.

The aroma is hoppy with pine, sweet malt, and herbs. The appearance is amber with a medium head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall it’s decent but not the best.

Average IPA, nothing special here. The beer does pour very nice, the flavor however is not very balanced. The hops do indeed stand out, which I am a fan of, however there is nothing else there in the beer to create a balanced finish.

Awesome brew from Portland. poured a clear but dark orange body with a medium sized white head. aroma is initially of light malts but citrusy at the same time. Fruity characteristics. well balanced and enjoyable.

Doesn’t smell sour at all, smells hoppy and malty. It’s also an attractive color. Quite bitter finish, kinda wakes you up a little if you aren’t expecting it. I can taste malt, but for the most part, all I can taste is the flavor of the hops. I like that, but it doesn’t seem particularly balanced. B+
