Commercial Description:
The Fire Station 5 beers are brewed by Portland Brewing exclusively for the Fred Meyer grocery store chain. A well-hopped, deep golden ale with a malty, full-bodied taste and refreshing finish. Sip and reflect on long journeys to exotic lands.

Bottle: The aroma is rather light with some sweet caramel and light herbal hops. It pours a transparent golden orange with a very small soapy white head. The flavor starts with moderate sweet caramel with a touch of fruit. The finish has some spicey herbal hoppiness with a slightest hint of grapefruit. This seems much more like an APA than an IPA.

Clear amber body with a small frothy off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma. Sweet caramel and malt flavor with a floral hop ending.

I guess Fire Station 5 has made it out of the Fred Meyers grocery stores - I bought this bottle at the Liquor Barn in Louisville, KY. Pours a honey orange with sparkling carbonation spiraling from the bottom of the tulip. The nose reveals sweet orange hops balanced by a firm backing of honey bread malt. The malts are even more pronounced in the body, caramel and dough come to mind. Citrusy hops are well defined and compliment the malt, stretching out the beer into a rindy finish. This is pretty solid for the style, but the hop combo is really played out.

This aromatic, hazzy copper ale is, suprisingly, the smoothest IPA I’ve ever had out of a bottle. If you’re like me and usually avoid the hop-fest that is a typical IPA, you could do worse than this beer.

Cloudy amber pour. Small, off-white head. Aroma of is sweet with heavy notes of grain and light notes of grapefruit, orange and flowers. Flavor starts sweet and stays sweet. Also taste of flowers and perfume. Light bitterness. Moderate finish. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Drinkable, but the flavors didn’t mesh for me.

Small tan head, fair retention with a thin coating lace. Lightly hazy, gold, light copper hued brew. Nose is lightly fruity, inky, a touch vegetal. Body is lightly medium, a bit much carbonation, lightly astringent. Grainy malts, light citrus, kinda dirty with some bready notes too boot. Finish is fairly dry, lightly astringent, metallic, a little woodsy? Thanks to ?? Sorry.

Cloudy golden color with a small beige head. Aroma and flavor of pine and floral hops with some sweetness. A little watery but still pretty decent.

Pours amber w/ a medium sized, semi creamy froth. Aroma is basic w/ hops on a malty backdrop. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. A malty style w/ a moderate hop presence. It has a defined yeasty bread character. The finish is bittered nicely but has a slight tart twitch that throws me off. It’s better than Bud!
