padrefan98 (787), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Jul 21, 2007 Draft at the Brewery. Deep flavors of roasted coffee beans, some chocolate, and some sweetness. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jul 20, 2007 Last stop of the return trip during ABA Beer Tour ’07. Sampled on nitro at the brewpub restaurant in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick and creamy beige head that slowly dissolves and keeps its head retention throughout. Aroma of light molasses, toasted dark malt and a touch of chocolate. Taste is smooth, creamy via nitro charged, with sweet flavors of coffee, chocolate and some toffee. Finish is smooth, creamy with a moderate bitterness that lingers around. cstuartj (305), Washington, USA Sep 8, 2004 An overall upper mid-ter porter. Had it from bottle. Nose was very nice, good roast, coffee and dark/burnt chacolate amoras. Poured very dark, with a nice toffe coloured head. Taste was deep and rich for the most part, lots of roast and good amount of fruit on the tongue. It was a little thin for my liking but this is a porter and not a stout after all. Finish was clean and smooth. kbjames (242), Utah, USA Sep 2, 2004 This is a decent porter that I got in a bottle. Nothing too special but a solid porter with good taste. OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA Jun 9, 2004 This was right up there with Brown Cow Ale for the Firehouse Brewing Company. It was a specialty brew and was available the last time I ate there. It is very dark, with a nice thick creamy head. A very tasty porter which was much better than their Strong Arm Porter. My roommate and I had to buy a pitcher of this it was so good.
