Pours a clear coppery amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has a slow dissolve and good lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet caramel malt, a touch of flowery hops and a touch of sweet fruit. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a sweet caramel malt and mild citrus/flowery hops character. Finish is creamy, smooth and malty with a slight mild bitter aftertaste. aracauna (2423), Georgia, USA

I expected the Chukkar with its hop profile to be the most flavorful of this bland bunch, but this is actually good. Relatively bold caramel malt and a peppery hop nose that complements the malt well. Best of the bunch. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 2, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Not a bad bet if you’re stuck in Rapid City. Nice red appearance with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel and slightly floral hops, not much to it though. Flavor is caramel malt, mild hoppiness, and slight fruitiness. Pretty standard red ale palate, nothing special there. MrBendo (1048), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Very drinkable on tap at the brewery. Not sure how this would taste bottled, I probably would not buy it often. padrefan98 (788), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA
