Indra (2023), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Oct 8, 2006 Fairly mild aroma, some dark toffee and cocoa, some slight roastiness present here as well. Opaque ebony color, head is almost fully diminishing. Flavor is bittersweet and chocolately to start, but mildly, becoming a bit more roasty and features some mild bitterness towards the finish, both from the lightly spicy hop character and the mildly coffeeish malts, seemingly. Lingering notes of cocoa at the very end. Smooth, thin mouthfeel, low in effervescence, body is light-medium. Less interesting than many Porters I’ve tried. Tmoney99 (4656), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 5, 2006 Draft at brewpub. Dark brown color with an average creamy brown head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate roasted chocolate aroma. Medium body with a dry smooth texture. Medium roasted sweet flavor with a light bitter finish of moderate duration. This beer went well with the taco salad I had. Jayson2425 (167), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA Apr 18, 2004 This is beer is a strong porter. I thought this was the worst beer at the firehouse. I agree with mr. od40oz about the higher temp. It would taste a lot better cold. OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA Apr 15, 2004 Dark beer with a smooth taste and no head. Had an unusual aftertaste. I could definitely taste the hops. I wish the Firehouse would serve their beer colder but they insist on serving it at 42 degrees. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jan 18, 2004 Light coffee tones in flavor and aroma on this unspectacular porter. Bit too thin with no carbonation. vwsteggie (684), Paxton, Massachusetts, USA Sep 5, 2003 Has a very dark brown color and a roasted malt/coffee smell. Taste is of roasted malts and finishes with a slight hop bitterness. Overall a great porter.
