| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Apr 15, 2004 Updated: May 10, 2004Clear yellow with not much of a head, served with a slice of lemon which is pretty candy assey. Not much of a wheat taste to it so I wouldn't rank it among the top wheat beers I've had. Also, the Firehouse serves their beers at 42 degrees which is a little warm for me. All in all this was an acceptable beer with an odd aftertaste. I recommend the Brown Cow Ale if you visit the Firehouse. bigcat03 (191), Lincoln, Nebraska, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 6, 2007 Draught from the brewpub poured into sampler with a lemon garnish - Pours cloudy gold; Grapefruit, wheat, orange, and lemon from the garnish to the nose; Lots of malt and yeast, barely any citrus...maybe a little lemon on the initial taste; Mostly malt on a clean backtaste; Medium palate; Pleasant carbonation; Not bad american wheat. The grapefruit was a different touch. Skyview (4104), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 20, 2007 Last stop of the return trip during ABA Beer Tour ’07. Sampled at the brewpub restaurant in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota. Pours a hazy golden straw brew with a thin white head that quickly dissolves but leaves a nice lacing and ring. Aroma of light wheat biscuits, light citrus and some flowery hops. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with a sweet light multi-grain malt, hint of bitterness and a touch of honey. Finish is creamy, with a light wheat aftertaste. Cornfield (4980), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 15, 2007 Personal Milestone: U.S.A. rating #2000 (out of 3300) ! My first South Dakota beer! It pours a hazy yellow/straw body with a bubbly white head that subsides rather quickly. The aroma is wheat flakes with a few drops of honey and a short squirt of lemon. The wheat softens somewhat in the flavor, some sweet citrus juices are added, and a very mild hoppy bitterness is introduced near the finish. Not a bad lawnmower brew. Thanks to Linda for the beer and giving me another state. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 9, 2007 I decided to put my skills to the test by trying this beer approx. three weeks after hand-bottling it off a growler. I seem to have failed...
I will relate my appearance and palate scores to memory as my bottle has lost all carbonation. It initially poured a light-hazed, golden amber with a moderate yet quick white head. Grainy aroma with notes of Nilla Wafers. Flavor is cookie-like with a predominance of pale malt before the tart, fruity finish of Trix cereal (and I probably haven’t had that breakfast treat in over 20 years). If there are Saaz hops in here, they didn’t add much. Rather satisfying, but nothing too special.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 13, 2006 On draught at the brewpub, ordered with no lemon. Very mild aroma, comprised of some gentle sweetness and wheat malt mingled with a touch of citrus. Hazy medium golden yellow color with a virtually non-existent head. Flavor is mildly sweet and even a bit honeyish to start, some soft wheat malt tones taking up most of the middle and with a lightly citric, spicy and mildly bitter finish (Saaz notes?). Some faint lemon here and there. Palate is fairly watery and moderately effervescent, body is light-medium. A passable American Wheat, not too mild.
