brokephibroke (14), , Colorado, USA Jul 17, 2008 Pours thin and golden. Amber in the glass with a average white head. Nose of construction materials, maybe spackle. Malty taste which is quite good, with mininal hops, OK beer, but not good enough. JamesMulvenon (16), USA Jul 17, 2008 One of my groomsman bought a case of this beer in 1997 for my bachelor party in Los Angeles, leaving me with fond memories. Until recently, this beer was almost impossible to get on the east coast, but lately it seems to be getting a national distribution. Pours a light copper color with a modest white head, and smells of malt and caramel. I remember the taste being more evocative 10 years ago, but to be fair there is a lot more fuller-bodied craft beer available now. The finish is definitely crisp and clean, almost biting. Hank1980 (324), Athens, Georgia, USA Jul 17, 2008 Poured clear brown/amber with a small head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and light fruit. Taste is malty, caramel, and some light hops. Finish was unremarkable, with some light malt and bitterness. Mouth was smooth and lightly carbonated. elihapa (190), Hawaii, USA Jul 14, 2008 Poured from bomber, a clear amber color with a medium head. Aroma of light malt, and fruit. Palate is soft and comforting, and the flavor is mild of fuit, hops, and a soft malty sweetness. Might have tasted some dates in there as well. I would have preferred a more robust flavor, especially for this oft-indescript style. BMan1113VR (628), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Jul 10, 2008 On tap. Pours with a smallish, tight, off-white head covering a clear dark amber body. Aroma is amber style malts with some fruity notes and a touch of caramel. Taste is malts and caramel upfront with a bit of card board and maybe hops in the finish (but the hops could just be the Arrogant Bastard I am burping up). Watery to dry mouthfeel with light carbonation.
