joekool_14 (1), USA does not count Apr 7, 2006 Great beer. Dark Amber color with medium head. Oak Aromas. Good Palate with flavors ranging from nutty, oaty, and toasty. Their oak barrel processing gives the beer a unique taste. ucsbdude (68), Santa Barbara, California, USA May 11, 2002 The pride of Santa Barbara County. This ale is on more taps in the Santa Barbara Area than Budweiser.Reddish hue, toasted malt aroma. Full bodied with a toasty malt backround and hints of vanilla. One of my favorites. punkeedo (383), San Antonio, Texas, USA Oct 16, 2004 Man, this was a great beer. Much better than Firestone’s Pale Ale, for sure. It was reminiscent of several Marzens that I have had of late. It had a beatiful cream-colored head that lasted indefinitely (well, until I drank it all down) and a beautiful amber color. The carbonation swelled and moved as I poured it...you just gotta understand...it was the way a beer is supposed to look. The taste was very complex, with notes of toffee and nuts. The aftertaste was comfortably sweet and the palate, encouraging to future purchases. Please, for your sake, drink this beer. vtmobile (41), USA Oct 8, 2001 hints of oak and red wine polish off this full bodied ale with long palate and complex taste. worth getting! Dawghouse Brewers99 (91), Exeter, California, USA Nov 5, 2001 Bubbly white head leaves a nice lacing behind. Orange amber colored beer smells of oak and malt. Nice balanced sweetness and hops on the palate. Good job Firestone/Walker!!!!
