aspidites (1268), manteca, California, USA Mar 1, 2008 Nose of wood, hops, caramel and oak. Full and round mouthfeel with soft bitterness and good earthy malt notes. Clean and soft finish. Zinister (876), Houston, Texas, USA Sep 2, 2007 Tasted at the brewery. This was a little better than the other Double Barrel. Much more creamy mouthfeel with nice flavors. hopdog (4552), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 16, 2007 Sampled from Growler courtesy of Zrrbrrt. Poured a medium amberish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas on the ’leafy’ side with caramel, trace of wood, and vanilla. Tastes of light wood, vanilla, caramel, and some grains. TomDecapolis (2407), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 15, 2007 Thanks to Josh for sharing this growler. Pours a translucent golden amber with an average off white head that left hints of lacing. Aroma was earthy, oaky, vanilla, hints of citrus and grainy sweet malts. Flavor of some vanilla, toffee, grainy malts, light bitterness, various spices and some earthiness. TheKegergator (241), California, USA Feb 11, 2007 Had this yesterday on tap at the brewery. Pours a medium dark amber that is very cloudy. Smell is a pretty good, maybe I just expected more from the"Unfilltered" part. Good, but nothing special. The mouth was very complex. Oak is there for sure, along with some grains, and hops at the finish. Very drinkable brew, and wish they bottled it.
