Bottle. A dark red brown beer with a off-white head. The aroma is of caramel malt, wood, pepper and brown sugar, so is the taste, sweet. Medium to full body with a sweet dry, wood finish.

22 oz bottle from BevMo LaJolla. Pours dark brown with copper highlights and a creamy beige head. Rich complex aroma, molasses, figs, lots of wood and alcohol, citrus, roasty notes and maple - an interesting blend character. Rich and sweet flavor, burnt caramel, molasses, coffee, hints of chocolate and fudge, brandy notes, oak, bitter herbs and spice. Quite delicious. Fully body, gently tickling carbonation.

Bottled. Dark brown in colour with almost no head. Malty with notes of liqourice, spices, caramel and a somewhat bitter and dry finish. A bit too sweet.

Bottled. A brown beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of roasted malt, but also a light citrusy hoppy note. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt, as well as medium notes of caramel, and the alcohol tickling the tongue, before a slightly bitter finish sets in.

Bottle. [Courtesy of Papsoe, shared @ Sk8viking] Small creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Muddy brown color. Spare lacework. Aroma was heavy malt with notes of bread, molasses, caramel/toffee, nutty and roasted malt. Some wood and vanilla with vinous, berries and port wine like feel as well. Full bodied with an almost oily texture and flat carbonation. Heavy sweet malty base flavor with light bitter notes. Dried fruity finish that really lingered. Lovely and well succeeded blend of styles I must say. 07-09-2007

22oz Bottle, bought in SoCal sometime in Jan 07. Fairly vigorous pour gets me a DEEP brown beer with rich tan foam, loses a point for lacing, which is non-existent. Aroma is a blast of cocoa powder and whiskey, there’s some oak in there too, but not nearly enough. Flavor is hot with lots of alcohol, there’s a lot more going on here but the octane just obliterates most of it, some bitterish mocha notes, some oak and a little bit of confusion. Personally, I think it would have been much better as a 10% or less beer, the alcohol masks what is really going on here and that’s a shame

Also this is my first taste of Firestone Walker, I look forward to trying more of their stuff.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of IrishBoy. Slightly hazy, dark orangey brown with a small, creamy, beige head. Aroma of wood, some earthy notes and some vanilla. Not overly full-bodied considering the alcohol, some roasted malts, some dried fruits, woody bourbon notes. The finish is only moderately bitter. An interesting blending experiment. 070907
