Thanks to hoppymeal for sharing this beauty. Pours a nice mahogany with small off-white head. Aroma strong of alcohol, bourbon, dark dried fruit, and slight hops. Taste matches well with the addition of toasted malt and slight sweetness. Very nice.

Bottled, I think FlacoAlto sent this to me nearly 2 years ago. Mostly blackish pour with a light foam ring that remains in the glass. The aroma is rich, sweet, uncompromisingly and shamelessly malty, with biscuity notes and unmistakable expressions of Thin Mints. Smooth, clean, rich flavor, the hops that once ruled in the unblended base beers now rest, giving a nice, spicy, zesty and lightly bitter kick to a minty-sweet brew. Perfectly silky carbonation. A touch of oxidation gives this light sherry notes without ever making it metallic or too old tasting. This has aged very well.

bottle shared by boltz7555 side by side with 11 and 12.

rather unattractive and murky looking mahogany brown with no head whatsoever. bourbon hits the sniffer first and hard... followed by woody vanilla, a little smoke, brown sugar and a nice tobacco shop. mmm.... the flavor is so soft and mellow. it is rather reminiscent of the aroma plus loads of oaky vanilla, grain and roasty malt powder. it finishes up dry and quite tannic to kill any remaining sweetness. the body is medium to full/medium and has some body, substance and texture to it. best of the three... 8/4/8/4/17/4.1

Sampled at hellbilly’s hellraiser 3 gathering. Bottle courtesy of BOLTZ7555. Tasted side by side with 11 and 12. Cloudy deep brown pour with a small head. Lots of vanilla, tobacco, fruit and wood in the aroma. Flavor is much the same with brown sugar and whiskey thrown in. Very good brew, and my favorite of the 3. Thanks Jason!

Bottle shared at Hellbilly’s Hellraiser 3.0 Tasting. The aroma put this one just a notch above FW11. Quite muddy in appearance by comparison to the 11 and 12. Almost no head to speak of and not a stitch of lacing. Flavor and aroma meld nicely; beautiful woodiness, dark ripened fruit, aged leather, molasses, vanilla, and tobacco. Nice medium mouthfeel...TASTY!!!

Bottle shared by BOLTZ7555 at hellbilly’s hellraiser 3.0 tasting. Pours a murky brown with a small tan head. The nose is oak, vanilla, pipe tobacco and dark fruits. The taste is spiked fruit, molasses, oaky vanilla and caramel malt with some whisky in the finish. Medium bodied – very good. Thanks Jason!
