Said it was comparable to Angel’s Share. Well, he was right. I think it might be better and more complex. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit, and tobacco. Flavor is choc. covered cherries, tobacco, and a mild alcohol burn w/ an oaky finish. Also notice a nice bourbon flavor on the back of the tongue and in the throat. This is one excellent beer.

I am 1 year away from my first taste of Angels Share, and this is the closest if not better than that. Mouthfeel of bourbon and vanilla straight from the beginning. It is all down hill from here. Pours a very dark color, a dark copper thats almost black best describes it. Nice dark tan head that lasted well. The smell is very good with a hint of alcohol and roast. Im not sure I know enough about brews like this yet to pick out everything in it but this one was great. The taste is VERY complex with the roast and some other vanilla’ish flavors. The 12% ABV comes in just at the very end. Very drinkable for the ABV, and will only get smoother as it ages IMO. JW77 (10), USA

Very dark brown color. Smells of tons of oak, bourbon, some vanilla, and sugars. The wonderful taste of malt and barrel just wonderful, vanilla, caramel and brown sugar. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

This thing tastes mostly like black licorice to me, and I am very okay with that. A crazy idea, with just a little too much noticeable alcohol at the end. A strong ale, this is an evening 12% and it is drinkable yet deserves sipping, after several minutes of aroma.. All kinds of hops, spearmint, peppermint.
