Tap at the Snake Pit in Hollywood. Usually what I get in that place when Im not feeling absinthe. Strikes me as a bitter, actually. Nice even flavor that is bread crusty enough to not be a US Pale. Sweet only to taste finished. Refreshing when cold.

12 oz bottle pours deep amber color, fantastic clarity, and topped with small beige head that fades quickly. Malt aroma is bready. Complex sweet malt flavor leads with mild fruity hop (Columbus?) bitter to balance in finish. Latent finish is sweet like grade b maple syrup.

Solid pale ale. Light citrus. Mellow aroma. Lacks intense hops, but I guess that is the point. Overall, ok. My substitution for not being able to ever get the anniversary beer.

Really lovely colour here. A deep red/amber with a thick permanent beige head. Smells like brittle toffee. Very sweet in the mouth, a little stale, flat empty finish.

12 ounce bottle from Corks & Kegs in Richmond, VA. Poursa brownish red color with a thin head, low head retention and average lacing. Big malty aroma with caramel and light hop notes. Very sweet malty taste with a tiny note of vegetal hops. Thin bodied.

A terrifically malty, lightly hopped pale that’s a great pizza accompaniment. A solid sessioner that pours a light amber color with lots of bubbles for an ale. Pleasantly sweet aroma of honey and grain.

I just don’t get the impression that this beer tried all that hard. There’s bitterness to it but it just falls so flat. Watery palate, a soft-metallic bitterness mixed with blandness, just nothing much doing here.
