| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2006 Poured to a hazy copper color with medium off-white head that dissipated fairly quickly and left little lacing. Aroma was a faint, hoppy fruit smell, but it was difficult to get anything much. The flavor waqs mnore of the hoppy, apple-citrus fruit, but I could not pick up any of the oak barrel taste or aroma. Not a bad beer though, and I’m glad I tried one. hopdog (5608), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 5, 2006 22oz bottle acquired in trade with DarkElf (thanks!). Tasted side by side with the normal Double Barrel Ale. The Batch 1000 poured a deeper, hazy amber color with a larger sized off white head. Lots of little floaters. The regular was lighter and clear with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of wood, oak, light vanilla, earthy, and some caramel. Softer tastes of caramel, vanilla, and citrus. The regular version was going south a little. Had a light cardboard aroma with lighter oak, caramel and vanilla. The 1000 was definitely better. realale420 (399), west covina, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2006 12oz bottle poured a clear copper color with a small off white head. The aroma had a small oak character along with some English hops. Not too much of a hop taste, but more caramel malt and some oak flavor. Smooth and easy drinking, maybe more of an amber than an English Pale. mbeem (104), New Hope, Alabama, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 21, 2006 An enjoyable beer.. Very drinkable. Pours deep ruddy hues into the glass with a thin white head. Subdued nose of hops and malt. Up front hop presence which gives way to a light malt. This is a good beer to have with food. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 3, 2006 Deep amber pour with a good amount of off white head. The aroma is a nice hop/coriander scent. Much lighter on the hops than the aroma leads you to expect. The flavor is dominated by a please carmalized malt flavor. There is a definate oak barrel quality throughout the flavor. this is medium bodied, and very clean, with a very light aftertest. Good Beer. Yeahitsnolan (51), Bakersfield, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2006 Poured a very nice amber color and medium amount of bubble movement. A nice aroma of outdoorsy, spicy hops smell. Very smooth while drinking, leaves a nice carmel malt flavor in your mouth. No bitterness left after drinking either. Very nice beer and very good with fried foods!
