Aroma: Spices and malt in the nose along with a bit of grassy aroma Appearance: Copper hued and crystal clear very attractive. Pours with an off-white head which dissipates quickly While the carbonation is not heavy on the tongue the stream of bubbles continues for a long time... Flavor: Wonderfully balanced with malty sweetness combined with a faint grapefruity hop flavor. Tastes like a cask-conditioned beer in a bottle. As teh beers wams to room-temps I am getting some fruity flavors Palate: At around 55F this is a very nicely balanced beer with dry finish which lingers just long enough to make it quaffable. I also notice a little oaky/woody tastes in the finish Overall: For me (Cask Lover) this is a wonderful beer which is absolutely balanced and drinkable. This is as close to being able to bottle a true "cask-conditioned" beer.... definitely worth seekingout in this middle of the over-hopped IPAs

Firestone Double Barrel Ale pours out the way I see beer pour in commercials and seems almost perfect to look at. It has an orange/brown tone to it like a shiny penny and is crystal clear. The head foams up nicely and off-white but dissipates fairly quickly. If that wasn’t inviting enough, the aroma is sweet and malty with a slight hint of spices. I found the taste to be very well-balanced between the flavor of the hops and malts. My first impression was toasted malts or toffee, but later I could subtly detect just hints of spice and possibly a grapefruit-like tangy bitterness from the hops. I think some of this flavor was also from fermenting in the oak barrels as there seemed to be an almost pepper-like taste in there that was hard to pin down. The finish was definitely bitter with a good kick of carbonation that was a bit heavier than what I usually like in my brews.

A good all around average beer, nothing to sell the farm and buy a warehouse full of it. Buy it and try it, you won’t be disappointed nor will you think you have found the end of the rainbow

bottle. Pour a nice brown almost golden color and is very clear. Strong hops aroma. Seem a little old so I might of had a bad one. But still was good.

The bottle poured a crystal clear dark amber beverage with a medium-thin off white head that was mostly diminishing and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was primarily malty with notes of sweet caramel in the background. The body was medium-thin with lively carbonation and a slightly watery texture. The flavor started off just a bit on the bitter side with sweet nuances around the edge. The finish was average in length, slightly dry and just a bit bitter as well.

as this beer goes down it very smooth and light and my mom doesn’t even make a face when she tries it. the after tastes is strong and woody on your palete and it ends with a very crisp taste this beer leaves you wanting another drink

(22 oz bottle: $2.99 at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) I must admit to never being all that impressed by this beer, or rather, it seems like a well-crafted beer, but it’s not really to my liking. It’s nicely balanced, featuring a dry, lightly roasty and minimally sweet maltiness and a crisp, moderately bitter hoppiness. While the oak barrel fermentation adds just a touch of wood, I’m not sure I’d even notice it if I weren’t looking for it, though it’s slightly more noticeable as the beer warms to room temperature. Lightly roasty and malty, earthy and woodsy in the nose. Medium bodied, dry, trim, crisp and very clean on the palate. Medium amber color and somewhat hazy in appearance. Bubbly, off-white head settles to a ring with an lily pad floating in the middle. Overall, it’s just too dry, clean and "sanitized" for my tastes. Just not my thing, I guess.
