Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright caramel color with a very creamy medium sized yellowish head. The aroma is strong with grapefruity hops. There is a strong grapefruit flavor with light sweet malts underneath. The balance is not too bad but the hops really dominate. Still not as good as the Double Barrell. ¾ (5009), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Unfortunately this is supposed to be an INDIA pale ale. Pretty weak flavor and aroma for an IPA. Tasted side by side with the pale ale and I couldn't tell the difference. jazz88 (2239), San Francisco, California, USA

A medium bodied IPA. Malts are nutty and slightly sweet. Hops are grapefruity and piney. A nicely balanced IPA. Slightly more fruity than bitter. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. WISEGUY572 (1251), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2003 Reddish golden ale, like many American IPAs. I am planning to be pleased. Nose speaks of hops and malt. Mouth like an ale. This is a good, hoppy malty beer with a good bitter finish. Citrus American bite, not to the levels I have come to expect from an IPA. Pleasant and easy to drink. fraternie (710), Chicago, Illinois, USA
