Aroma is some light pale malts and a little citrusy hops. Flavor is similar, slightly sweet and cerealish. A bit under hopped for a Pale but easy drinking all around. Palate is a bit thin and carbonation was quite soft. Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Updated: Nov 6, 2007Initial aromas on pour from bottle are dominated by hops - floral with a hint of pine.
Pours golden and clear with a moderate white head that quickly dissipates.
Taste is a bit citrus with undertones of vanilla and barely sweet toffee. Bitterness is present but restrained.
Finish is clean and slightly astringent. This is like Bass Ale all grown up (and without the green apple flavor).
Not a world-class pale ale, but agreeably drinkable. JohnnyJ (1353), Carlsbad, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 17, 2007 A good pale ale for those who don’t go for the type. A tad dry with vanilla notes and citrus, grapefruity, hops that come through on the front of the tongue, with slight pine notes mingling with the hops at the back of your tongue. A good brew for a hot day, very mildly malty and not at all aggressive. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 3, 2007 Tried as part of a Beer of the Month club offering. Pour is orangish yellow. Aroma is very fragrant hops, grapefruit is the standout that really gets me excited. The flavor is sweet up front with a finish of slightly bitter hops and nice grapefruit presence. Very smooth and easy to drink. At this strength its a session beer. Good stuff.
