Initial taste was of a stout, with notes of smoke, roast, bitterness. Then the bourbon started to kick in, followed by a sweet chocolate finish. I thought the bourbon complemented this beer very well. golubj (1300), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2008 EBF NOTB. Black pour with light brown head. Strong bourbon, roasted malt, and chalky chocolate in the aroma. The flavor is the same, but the alcohol seemed well hidden. The palate was a little thin. alexanderj (2286), Chino Hills, California, USA
