27/04/2009. 330ml bottle from www.beerstore.co.nz (bottle 01/26/2009). Balanced nose. Big biscuit dough and toffee malt with a huge resinous hoppy character all the way through. Herbal, spicy, pine. Very bitter. Really nice, possibly just a little too clean if I’m going to criticise - but hey, it ain’t English. Fairly dangerous...

Had this are DLD 09. My girlfriend got me a glass of this. Awesome hoppy aroma. And amazing hoppy flavor. Easily one of the best IPAs i’ve ever had.

Very nice IPA. Herbal and piney hops. Biscuity malt. Extremely refreshing, and hides the high alcohol very well. I’d be at the end of my third pint before realising I was in trouble I think! Great beer.

Guest draft @ Dark Lord Day. Pours copper with thin tan head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Aroma bitter flavor through out. Still angry none of the pizza port taps were working, but this was a great second choice.

Bottle: Sent from San Diego to El Salvador, enjoyed with my brother and the former Beer Culture Coordinator from the local brewery. Brother preferred my home brew... all I can say is this is excellent!

Here’s my dirtly little secret... Firestone Walker Union Jack. Similar hopping schedule to Pliny (Simcoe, Columbus which is Tomohawk in this brew, Centennial) the only diference is Cascade... but you can taste the difference. The point being "YOU CAN TASTE THE DIFFERENCE". This little dark horse is up there. I got 6 and will probably get 6 more... crack into it - you’ll see!

Tap @ O’Briens. Poured clear copper-gold with a short white head. Moderate lacing. For a straight IPA, this was fantastic. Sometimes, you get the DIPA that calls itself an IPA, but this is jsut a well-done, big-hop single IPA. Crisp, fresh pink grapefruit, pine needles, orange peel, and mango in the nose. Sharp mouthfeel with a good amount of carbonation. No stickiness in the finish. The aroma follows through nicely in the taste. Grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, and that bite of resin. The caramel malt stays muted and does not turn this into a candied mess. Please sell more bottles of this in San Diego.
