Commercial Description:
A singularly distinctive beer that represents our finest brewing efforts, Walker’s Reserve is an elegant dark ale featuring robust flavors of espresso, caramel and bittersweet chocolate. This wood-conditioned brew employs five specialty malts along with smooth silky oats for added complexity and flavor. Gentle English Goldings and spicy American Cascade hops together lend a perfect finish to this big, bittersweet ale. Somewhere between porter and stout, this unfiltered and bottle-conditioned beer is produced in small batches for the true connoisseur.

Pours a watery, opaque black from the bomber with a thin, creamy slightly off white head. Nice inviting aroma of roasted malts but also a faint hop aroma as well. Flavor is very unique, obviously roasted malt, espresso and bitter chocolate are at the forefront. There is also a heavy amount of fruit, grapes, and a surprising spice/yeast finish. Crisp on the palate. The complexity of the flavor (think stout meets dubbel) really makes you believe this is a reserve beer.

Translucent and modest chocolate brown in color with a dissipating cobweb white head and beady lacing. Sweet cocoa morsels and Swiss chocolate penetrate the nose with a hint of brownie batter and authentic Mexican vanilla bean extract. Enjoyable aromatics indeed. Flavor rolls in much lighter than expected, with a cocoa and aluminum force ringing and building in the mouth post sip. Harsh, iconoclastic carbonation stings with pinions and cotton cactus roots, ultimately letting a wholesome cocoa bean and raw bitterness resonate. Medium to lighter bodied with a hint of scorched fudge and jojoba to give a slight suggestion to the wood. Fuzzy, airy chocolate cocoa crisp recedes into the distance. Thanks for the bomber, tpkenned!

Very nice porter, chocolate, mocha, very nice lingering after taste. This also has a smokey flavor component to it as well.

Dark brown, nice frothy tan head. Aroma is coffee and choclate with grassy hops. Oily on the palate with a nice dark malty flavour. Hops to finish it off.

Bomber birthday beer 3. Consumed at The Linkery in SD. Pour is uber black with a 1 finger tan head. The aroma is light and malty. Taste is robust and chocolately and quite drinkable. Pretty good brew probbably too heavy to have with dinner like I did but oh well.

Deep reddish brown, plentiful long-lasting light brown head. Aroma is quite unique - dark chocolate, winey, sort of salty, woody in a forest after the rain kind of way. Not overbearing woodiness like many other barrel-aged disasters. Flavor is rich, creamy coffee and chocolate with a bit of a grainy twang at the end. Finish is perhaps a tad thin. Very well crafted, but not extremely exciting.
