| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 13, 2009 Pours an almost clear dark brown with very thick tan head, lots of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, oats, chocolate, caramel, very light coffee, and even lighter dried fruits. Flavor matched well with the addition of some spices. As I drank this bottle, I couldn’t figure out how to describe a character of it, but I realized after seeing other ratings that it could be described as chalky. Lacks the complexity of elite porters, but is drinkable and enjoyable. michael-pollack (2745), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2009 A dark brown beer with little head. Aroma was chocolate, roasted malt. The body was thin yet the mouthfeel was creamy which I could not understand how that works. Taste was cream, chocolate, little coffee, roasty, slightly bitter. Not bad. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Blind tasting at Papsø’s Black color. Light roasted malt aroma, very lightly cheesy. Medium body, but quite smooth; per se the flavor is not impressive, with just some roasted malt, but it has a quite good harmony and a light creamy impression. Quite good. alexsdad06 (1107), Ohio, USA
