Commercial Description:
A singularly distinctive beer that represents our finest brewing efforts, Walker’s Reserve is an elegant dark ale featuring robust flavors of espresso, caramel and bittersweet chocolate. This wood-conditioned brew employs five specialty malts along with smooth silky oats for added complexity and flavor. Gentle English Goldings and spicy American Cascade hops together lend a perfect finish to this big, bittersweet ale. Somewhere between porter and stout, this unfiltered and bottle-conditioned beer is produced in small batches for the true connoisseur.

Very creamy coffee aroma, more cream than coffee. Very dark brown, small tan head. Nutty, creamy, hazelnut roast. Medium bodied and very creamy. I’ve said cream 5 times now.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing brown beer. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and some wood, leading to a dry and lightly bitter finish. Nice. Thanks Søren for sharing.

Very dark brown with some ruby highlights. Nice one finger tan head. Modest amount of lacings. Mild roast malt aroma. Taste is dark chocolate malt with a touch of espresso. Just enough earthy hop bitterness to balance the flavors. Finish is moderately bitter. Tasty porter but a bit subdued overall. Very easy drinker.

Bottle... Poured deep brown with a beige head. Smoked malts and light chocolate or mocha notes on the nose. Light palate with a nice carbonation. Lots of malts and strong roasted and earthy flavors too with a tiny bit o hops. Chocolaty finish.

Bomber. Pours a quite dark purplish brown with large sticky beige head. The aroma is pipe tobacco, caramel, molasses, marshmellows, and just a touch of ash. The flavor is sweet with caramel, prune, and milk chocolate. There are some notes of char and wood in there, but they are behind the sweeter tones. A bit of a spicy and earthy hop tinge comes out toward the finish, just enough to keep the sweetness at bay. The aftertaste is ash and chocolate, and fades slowly. The mouthfeel is slick and goes down the throat very, very smoothly. Very good beer. I could down a few of these.

Bomber. Pours black with a dense one-finger latte-colored head. Holding the beer to a strong light reveals a ruby red interior. Enticing aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark roasted malt and light smoke. The taste is even better - lots of semi-sweet chocolate, dark roasted coffee and a hint of oak. A pleasant bitterness from the generous quantity of hops lingers on the tongue and balances the beer nicely. The body is moderately thick and smooth, with no detectable carbonation. This is a terrific porter - I enjoyed it from start to finish.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color with jello tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, smoke, and alcohol. Taste is gentle roasted malt with a smooth chocolate, some wood undertone.
