Commercial Description:
A singularly distinctive beer that represents our finest brewing efforts, Walker’s Reserve is an elegant dark ale featuring robust flavors of espresso, caramel and bittersweet chocolate. This wood-conditioned brew employs five specialty malts along with smooth silky oats for added complexity and flavor. Gentle English Goldings and spicy American Cascade hops together lend a perfect finish to this big, bittersweet ale. Somewhere between porter and stout, this unfiltered and bottle-conditioned beer is produced in small batches for the true connoisseur.

Bomber served in a Guinness glass. Cola pour that turns darker in the glass. Lovely light tan head with good lacing. Aroma isn’t too complex. Faint chocolate, oatmeal, and hops. Medium body, prickly carbonation. Flavor is roasted malts, but I’m not getting a lot more. Bitter and lengthy finish.

Bomber served at cellar temp. Poured into a tulip, really wanted to open up the aroma here. Deep clear ruby brown with a large fluffy tan head. Aroma is mostly cocoa with some tart red fruits and an unwelcome copper note. Flavor is toasted bread, semisweet chocolate, light caramel, a touch of roast, and vanilla. Not very robust, despite the name. Body is thinnish but the oats make this pretty smooth to drink. More body would make this a very solid beer.

On tap at Blue Palms. Pours a roasted coffee color with a mahogony tint and a trim beige head. Smells weak -- full of wet grass, barley, and hay. Really not appealing. Tastes slightly better with added notes of toasted malts, caramel, and coffee. Meh.

#586 (Frank Robinson) A somewhat "plain and simple" example of a favorite style, so it’s pretty good. Mild semi-sweetened chocolate flavor, silky body, nice head retention. Not much aroma to speak of.

Picked up at Lee’s Discount Liquor while in Vegas. Dark brown pour with a quickly disappearing tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, and vanilla. Great mouthfeel with a nice hop background to compliment the roasty malt flavor. Finishes slightly chalky.
