Commercial Description:
This golden-hued ale has a distinctively balanced malt character and finishes with light toffee notes, a suggestion of nuts, and a clean brisk bitterness. The aroma is fruity and floral, with hints of orange from the hops, a soft smokiness, and vanilla from the medium toasted oak. NOTE: no longer made, replaced by the Firestone Pale Ale (an APA, not an EPA).

Golden color, no head, at least by the time it made it to my table at dinner. Nice malty sweet taste initially and then the hops hit me right in the back of the mouth and throat headed towards the nasal cavities. very interesting hop bite to it for that reason. seemed more like american hops to me than english hops. Glad i tried it but i think i will pass next time.

Quite hoppy...I would classify it as an APA not an English PA, but that’s probably just me. Not balanced enough, has too thin a body. These brewers are clearly craftsmen; this one is just one-dimensional. It’s pretty good.

Top rate beer. Very flavorful, hoppy with strong malt nose. The Burton Union system has been revived for a great beer.
