20090919 Cask at Max’s. Hazed orange. Aroma reminds of pound cake, pound cake dunked in white vinegar, easter eggs. Despite odd aromas, it’s still enticing. Flavors are mineral, fresh and crisp. Nice enough quaff that I easily got past the diacetyl nose.

Draught @ Hutt’n. Hazy amber. Big thick head. Rustic aroma - light diacetyl, even pedio. Malt accent. Fresh taste, quite rustic again. Very yeasty. Light cookieish malt character. A re-rate at their keller outside Zentbechhofen rated higher, and an adjustment to the score has been made.

The Hausbier at Hutt’n, draft. Cloudy hazy orange with big white head. Rustic, funky aromas include lactic and pedio aromas. Quaffable, granular palate. The flavors are cleaner than the nose indicates. Some citrus flavors come out. It’s actually a fun but farmy beer.

(bottle) pours a clear yellow colour with a frothy white head. aroma dominated by buttery malts, with light notes of herbal hops. flavour is the same, some light notes of grain, but altogether just a huge diacetyl bomb. medium body and carbonation. drain-pour.

Draught at Fischer-Keller, Zentbechhofen/Greuth. Clear pale orange, small head. Grassy nose. Medium dry with rounded, inviting malt character. fresh and vital with pleasant light grassy hoppiness and good bitterness. An excellent, moreish quencher!

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of grain, but also light notes of yeast. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of straw and grain, leading to a dry and slightly bitter finish.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear, dark amber golden with a small, white head. Aroma of caramel and a whiff of butter. Medium body with malty accents, a lightly nutty touch and a vaguely fusty edge. Rather hoppy finish. Not completely fresh. 150807
